Remarkable initiative by Stanbic IBTC: Scholarship Award to top 30 Candidates in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
Stanbic IBTC has concluded arrangements to award scholarship to the top 30 candidates in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The decision to bankroll the education of the 30 candidates is part of activities lined up to mark their 30th anniversary. The corporate and investment banking and marketing manager, Mrs Bridget Oyefeso-Odusami, dropped this hint when she visited the Headquarters of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Bwari, Abuja.
Mrs Odusami said that the essence of the scholarship is to enable candidates desirous of tertiary education to pursue their dreams under a most comfortable atmosphere. ” She added. “There are criteria to select the top 30 UTME candidates. The candidates must have scored minimum of 250 in the just concluded UTME, possess five credit passes in thier O’level results as well as meeting other specified criteria necessary for admission. Continuing, she said, “The scholarship is going to be inclusive. It would take into consideration the best male and female and the best visually impaired candidates from the 36 states of the federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.” In his remarks, the Registrar, JAMB, prof. Is-haq Oloyede, thanked Stanbic IBTC for the remarkable initiative stating that it will positively affect the educational careers of the beneficiaries.
He said the gesture was a way of giving back to the society and encouraging hard work through investing in human capital. He charged other corporate organizations to emulate this great initiative.
